Commemorating Ali's 37 Knockouts

Quigley's Boxers

Quigley painted Muhammad Ali 11 times and met the boxing legend in the 1990s. In 2005, Ali granted usage of his likeness for the Skrapper clothing line through a handshake agreement, facilitated by their mutual friend—collector, philanthropist, and film producer Gregory Brown.

The Boxers series was sparked by a desire to move back to NY from LA in 1999 by a commission from fomer Italian Cup kickboxing champion Venanzio Ciampa— and marketing executive who relaunched Omega, Hublot for Swatch Group and LVMH.

Quigley drew a metaphorical parallel between the prizefighter and the painter—two figures engaged in solitary, disciplined, and brutal battles for recognition and survival. What began as a single commission evolved into a powerful and prolific series. Over the years, Quigley has created 7 paintings of Ali and sold more than 90 boxing-themed prints, sketches, and paintings of Lennox Lewis, Mike Tyson, Sugar Ray Robinson, James Braddock, Anderson Silva, Chuck Liddell, Evander Holyfield, and turn-of-the-century pugilists like Jim Jeffries and Jack Johnson.

This body of work has become one of his most sought-after, capturing the raw emotion, tension, and resilience that unite both the fighter and the artist. Each print is hand-signed, artist-supervised, and limited to an edition of 37.
