Quigley’s Boxers
The Boxers series began in 1999, sparked by a commission from PR publicist and former Italian fighter Venanzio Ciampa. Quigley drew a metaphorical parallel between the prizefighter and the painter—two figures engaged in solitary, disciplined, and often brutal battles for recognition and survival.
What began as a single commission evolved into a powerful and prolific series. Over the years, Quigley has created and sold more than 90 boxing-themed paintings, sketches, and prints. This body of work has become one of his most sought-after, capturing the raw emotion, tension, and resilience that unite both the fighter and the artist.
